The Space
With my own hands, alongside several incredible local craftspeople (healers in their own right), I built my home and my Acupuncture practice studio, tucked away on my wooded property in Bass Harbor on Mount Desert Island in Maine. It sits a few hundred yards from the Bass Harbor Head Light Station, and minutes from the Ship Harbor and Wonderland trails, Seawall, and Charlotte's Lobster Pound. It is a strong, healthy, peaceful space, setting the tone for healing and for sustained health in the client.
Nestled among resilient conifers, keeping time with the sounds of the sea, sunlit and warmed by a woodstove, this healing studio is the result of a dream of mine from the start of my training - to create a space that allows us to remain connected to the natural world, which continually invites us to Remember the natural state of Being, peace, and health that always exisits within us. Within this space, I am so immensely grateful and honored to have the opportunity to be listening to the voice of my community, and learning about the the ways in which I may support it, and those who contain it.
The identity of each client entering my treatment space, and any details shared with me within that space, or in any space at any time, are considered protected health information - confidentiality and privacy is respected to the upmost degree. My discretion and committment to privacy is not restricted to the treatment room - living and working as a health care practitioner in a small community, I honor confidentiality with all folks, at all times, no matter the relationship or the setting in which we converse. It is such an honor to support family members, colleagues, neighbors, fellow students, as that has a synergistic effect on everyone’s well being and their shared environments, and it brings me joy to play a part in this. That said, while a patient is welcome to speak of their experience in my treatment room with whomever they like, I honor privacy and confidentiality to the upmost degree.
